Multi Grade Sand Filter
The INDION Multigrade Filter is a depth filter that makes use of coarse and fine media mixed together in a fixed proportion. This arrangement produces a filter bed with adequate pore dimensions for retaining both large and small suspended particles.
This filter performs at a substantially higher specific flow rate than conventional filters. Specific flow rates of 15-30 m/h have been successfully obtained for treating waters containing 50-25 ppm suspended solids respectively to produce a filtrate with less than 5 ppm
INDION New Generation Multigrade filters (NGMF) series remove suspended solids from feed water. They also remove turbidity provided the feed water has already been coagulated and clarified. Filters are designed to handle a maximum flow of 35 m³/h.
Salient Features
NGMF series of Multi Grade Filters is aesthetically designed, light weight and easy to install and maintain. It does not require any special foundation
Specially graded coarse and fine sand is used as filter media which permits handling larger linear flow rate as compared to conventional single media filters resulting in lower footprint
The entire unit is made up of plastic material. Pressure vessel is made of fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) and pipe work is of poly vinyl chloride (PVC)
Filter is fitted with a single multi-port valve to be operated by hand lever for ease of operation
Filter is backwashed by reversal of flow whenever the pressure drop across the unit exceeds the set limit
